河北北方学院是经国家教育部批准，于2003年9月由张家口医学院、张家口师范专科学校和张家口农业高等专科学校三所省属高校合并组建而成。张家口医学院的前身是1945年建立的晋察冀白求恩卫生学校，1982年12月经教育部批准升格为本科院校，定名为张家口医学院；张家口师范专科学校始建于1950年；张家口农业高等专科学校始建于1923年。在近百年的办学历程中，学校积累了丰富的办学经验，具有较高的教学和科研水平，为地方经济建设和社会发展做出了重要贡献。国际教育学院于2014年12月正式成立，是河北北方学院涉外教育的主要载体，负责来华留学生的招生、教学、管理和专业培养工作。国际教育学院立足培养具有高水平临床医学专业知识技能、“知华友华”、促进中外文化交流的国际化人才。在上级主管部门、学校党委和行政的正确领导下，经过不懈努力，我们已经从最初单一的汉语培训发展成为以临床医学专业本科学历教育为主体、汉语言培训为辅助的来华留学生教育培养体系。留学生生源国覆盖全球多个国家和地区。昔日同窗永远是校友们心中纯真的美好记忆,学校始终是校友们温暖的家。学校时刻牵挂着你们，学校永远是你们坚强的后盾！

Dear Alumni,
It gives us immense pleasure to continue everlasting ties with you. Hope you are faring well in your job and earning laurels for yourself as well as your families.
Hebei North University was established in September 2003 through the merger of three provincial universities: Zhangjiakou Medical College, Zhangjiakou Normal College, and Zhangjiakou Agricultural College, approved by the Ministry of Education. The predecessor of Zhangjiakou Medical College was the Jin-Cha-Ji Bethune Health School established in 1945. In December 1982, it was upgraded to an undergraduate institution approved by the Ministry of Education and named Zhangjiakou Medical College. Zhangjiakou Normal College was founded in 1950, and Zhangjiakou Agricultural College was established in 1923.
Over the past century of its educational history, the university has accumulated rich experience in education and has achieved a high level of teaching and scientific research. It has made significant contributions to local economic development and social progress. The International Education College was officially established in December 2014. It is the main body responsible for foreign-related education at Hebei North University, undertaking the enrollment, teaching, management, and professional development of international students in China. The International Education College aims to cultivate internationally-oriented talents with high-level clinical medical expertise, knowledge of China, and promotion of cultural exchange between China and other countries.
Under the correct leadership of the higher authorities, the university party committee, and the administration, after unremitting efforts, we have developed from initially providing only Chinese language training to establishing a comprehensive educational system for international students, with undergraduate education in clinical medicine as the main focus and Chinese language training as auxiliary. The source countries of international students cover multiple countries and regions worldwide.
The friends from our past will always be cherished memories in the hearts of alumni, and the university will always be a warm home for them. The university always cares about you and will forever be your strong support!
